Do you take my dental insurance?
If you have a PPO insurance plan than yes, we take your insurance! If you have a DMO/DHMO plan or Medicaid than we don’t take your plan (with exception of United Healthcare Medicare Advantage & some AARP Plans).
We accept all dental PPO plans including Aetna, Ameritas, Principal, Anthem BCBS, BCBS of MA, BCBS of TX, Cigna, Delta Dental, Federal Member Program (FEP), GEHA, Guardian, Principal, Dental Select, Best Life, MetLife, United Concordia, United Healthcare, and many more!
Our dental practice is not in network with all dental plans. What does that mean for you? Very little. It does mean that your insurance provider may pay us a bit more than if you saw an in-network dental practice, which is why they want you to see an in-network dentist! If we allow an insurance company to underpay us for for the remarkable treatment we offer, we can’t give the highest level of treatment that you deserve. Insurance companies are in the business of making money and so they desire patients to see a dentist in-network since it saves THEM money, that’s why they encourage you that in-network is better!
So exactly how do you know if you can utilize your benefits below? Call and ask (512-263-7896) or send us a message!
Important Changes for Our Delta Dental Patients
Delta dental insurance has become increasingly difficult to work with in recent years. They impose a massive administrative burden on our practice, and we often need to do battle with them to manage routine claims. Over the years, it has become clear to us that Delta Dental has less interest in optimal oral healthcare for our patients and much more interest maximizing their own profits. More and more often, they drive a wedge between doctors and patients. So after months of consideration, we have made the decision to become an out of network provider with Delta.
YOU are important to us. We’ve made the decision to go out of network with Delta Dental because remaining in network prevents me from delivering the highest quality care as you’ve come to expect over the years at Lake Pointe Dental. Dr. Murphy will never compromise the level of care, skill or judgement she provides. So as of September 30, 2024 we will continue as an out of network provider for Delta Dental.
What does this mean for our loyal patients who happen o have Delta Dental insurance? You can ABSOLUTELY CONTINUE TO come to our practice for your oral healthcare. You can STILL use the benefits your dental insurance policy furnishes for out of networks providers in our office. We will continue to submit claims to Delta on your behalf. We will continue working to maximize your benefits on your behalf.
Upon notifying Delta Dental of our withdrawal, we understand they have sent an email letter to policy holders. This letter is very confusing and may leave some patients thinking they are required to find another dentist. This is simply not true. You are very much welcome in our office and we will continue to help you use your benefits.
It is our fondest hope you continue to visit our office for your care and in return, you have our utmost commitment to continue delivering the same world class care you trust us to provide. If you have any questions about this transition, please call or visit with Amber or Katelyn at our office.
Have a blessed day and we look forward to seeing you soon!
