Holly M. Murphy, DDS

I’m a small-town Texas girl with a passion for family, travel, and dentistry!  I grew up in Cleburne (It’s OK, nobody’s heard of it) south of Fort Worth.  I left to attend The University of Texas (go Horns!) and never looked back.  I tell everyone that my story is just like everyone else’s…I came to Austin for school and then never wanted to leave!  Is anyone truly FROM Austin anymore?

I did temporarily leave Austin to go to Houston for dental school (also UT) where I picked up a husband, a second dog, and a new degree!  I hit the jackpot when I joined Lake Pointe Dental right out of school in July 2006.  And now, 10+ years later, I can’t imagine having taken a different path.

When people ask my why I wanted to be a dentist, the answer is easy.  I never wanted to be anything else.  Truly.  I have the “What do you want to be when you grow up” paper from Kindergarten class.  My answer was “dentist” then and never wavered.  I spent a lot of time in the dental chair when I was little.  Middle child luck plus genetics makes me the only one of my siblings to have ever had a cavity…still to this day (insert eyeroll here).  And I was a terrible patient.  Oh, ‘scuse me, the appropriate way to say that is “uncooperative.”  It must’ve been that time screaming in the chair that inspired me!

My approach to dentistry is easy.  I treat every patient like I would want to be treated.  I’m honest, tend to be on the conservative side, and always have their best interest in mind.  And I’m good at what I do.  I enjoy getting to know my patients personally and hearing what’s going on in their lives.  I understand that I’m the “most hated profession in the entire world” and nobody wants to be in my chair and I enjoy the challenge of making the experience…dare I say enjoyable?

When I’m not creating healthy smiles, I’m spending almost every other minute with my family.  My husband is a stay-at-home, dinner-cooking, grocery-shopping, house-cleaning, homeschooling hero.  I have a daughter, Charlotte, and a son, Walker.  They’re perfect.  We love The Houston Astros and each other.

I look forward to meeting you!  Until then; please brush, floss, & repeat. 😊
